The pandemic has resulted in many businesses turning to Instagram to keep in contact and stay relevant with their customers, staying on top of your social media marketing is more important now than ever before.
The Covid-19 crisis has left many small businesses struggling, but the Facebook owned social media app has developed new features and functionalities to tackle these issues and help its users to support their favorite businesses and brands from home.
“Support Small Business” sticker.
Users can add the “Support Small Business” sticker to their stories and mention specific brands directly.
Not only will any of the people who view your story get a preview of the account, but these stories will all be added to a shared story with other similar content promoting small businesses supported by those that they follow.
According to Facebook’s press release, Instagram shops will allow users to “browse selections from your favorite brands and creators, filter by categories like beauty and home, and purchase the looks you love all in one place.”
Shops can be found through the discover feed or in stories users may come across. They can purchase through the in-app browser, so users don’t have to leave the app. It’s the ultimate convenience for customers and brands alike.
Live videos on IGTV
We can now share live videos directly to IGTV after you’re done recording. Previously, lives could be uploaded as stories, meaning they’d disappear after 24 hours.
Users on stories typically want fun, easy content not a long live recording divided into small chunks. But now you can download it to your camera roll, and then republish it on Facebook or IGTV later.
Following the extremely popular effect on TikTok, Instagram have now revealed they are working on a green screen of their own.
From hosting a tutorial, advertising products, or simply just transposing yourself somewhere new, the green screen filter is one to try out on your next post and impress your customers!
Initially created for the travel industry, Instagram shifted the focus to wellness content amid the pandemic, “We’ll enable creators to connect with expert organizations to share resources during this time, including tips on how to look after your well-being, maintaining connection with others or managing anxiety or grief.”
Users will be able to scroll through shared, curated content from trusted creators and influencers.
